In Shetland the Nøggle, Njuggle or NUGGLE is mischievous but much more friendly and is said to be useful in keeping waterwheels working. It has a wheel-like tail. Corresponding shape-changing horse creatures are found in Norway, the NØKKEN or Näkken in a dangerous horse or human creature that plays the fiddle in order to entice its victims onto thin ice.
