Collection: Julia Smith
Julia Smith (b. 1974) studied ceramics at Glasgow School of Art and now works from her quiet garden studio in Ardersier overlooking the Moray Firth - a beautiful natural environment which provides endless inspiration. Her glaze colours are reminiscent of seascapes with light reflected on the water or mist rolling in. Her drawings of mountains, forests, animals and trees are recreated as decals and fired on top of the glazes. Her illustrated earthenware ceramics are intended to be used and enjoyed every day. Her work is becoming highly collectable and with over 45,000 followers on social media, items sell out in an instant. The pieces shown are inspired by a trip to volcanic regions of Iceland.
