Karolina Larusdottir

Karólína Lárusdóttir Hon Ret RWS, Hon RE, HRNEAC (1944-2019) studied in the 1960’s in London and at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. She was a painter and accomplished printmaker and her subject matter was rooted in her Icelandic upbringing. Her etchings contain a wry humour that enhances the surreal and timeless qualities she created when dealing with her favourite topic, people. She is highly regarded in the UK and Iceland and her work is held in the British Museum, the collection of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Icelandic National Collection.
