Maureen Minchin studied at Bath Academy but gained most of her practical knowledge of ceramics from workshops in Arran, Sutherland, Norfolk, Devon and Italy. She now lives on the remote Scottish peninsula of Ardnamurchan and the flora and fauna of her wilderness surroundings have been a great inspiration for her superbly drawn, hand-decorated earthenware pots. Her work is becoming increasingly collectable, especially after the high prices achieved in recent auctions of contemporary ceramics held at Bonhams in London.
