Sophie Smith

Sophie Smith studied at Chelsea School of Art and set up her studio in Buckinghamshire in 1997. Her earthenware ceramics are quirky, fun and colourful. She uses a variety of processes including hand-building, slip-casting and press-moulding to form her shapes, which are then embellished by cutting into the clay and applying glazes and gold and platinum lustres.
